Going further than controlling barrier gestures, the prevention of infectious risks must not overlook the role played by the environment, in particular surfaces which can contribute to cross-contamination. But although the implementation of effective detergency and disinfection is more necessary today than ever, it must also go hand in hand with eco-responsibility. Here, Oxy’Pharm offers a biodegradable combination that complies with current standards.
“Oxy’Pharm has set up a complete hygiene concept thanks to the Sanivap and Nocotech product range. These are 100% biodegradable and therefore perfectly suited for use in healthcare facilities: the treatments are safe for healthcare professionals and patients, and have no impact on electronic equipment,”explains Romain Rouleau, the Managing Director of Oxy’Pharm. Above all, the bactericidal, yeasticidal, fungicidal and sporicidal efficacy of these perfectly complementary solutions is scientifically proven. Sanivap steam bio-cleaners, which remove biofilm and complex soils using steam (H20) are therefore compliant with the NF 72-110 standard, and the Nocotech, an automated bio-disinfection system using dry diffusion of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), meets the European standard EN 17272. It is exclusively dedicated to airborne surface disinfection (ASD), and has replaced and specified the requirements of the French standard NF T72-281, which now only concerns manual airborne disinfection systems. “The effectiveness of hydrogen peroxide (H202) has now been demonstrated on all pathogenic micro-organisms, including SARS-CoV-2. Its diffusion by DSVA technology allows it to reach every cm2 of the surfaces to be treated to guarantee irreproachable bio-disinfection,”he says.
Great synergy for versatile applications
This proven efficiency helps implement protocols that leave no room for hazards, in order to better control the infectious risks linked to the environment. To support their implementation in the most critical areas, Oxy’Pharm has recently developed a practical guide for bio-cleaning cleanrooms, in particular with regard to the two fundamental stages of cleaning and disinfecting surfaces. The first, which refers to the preliminary cleaning and particulate decontamination of surfaces, requires treatment with a detergent. “Sanivap is ideal for this purpose, especially as the use of steam renders the rinsing phase unnecessary, as with chemical detergents,” notes Romain Rouleau. The second is the terminal decontamination and disinfection operation. It is used for all surfaces, including the most difficult to access ones, to reach the level of microbiological cleanliness that will lead it, later on, to meet the qualification standards for the cleanroom. “Oxy’Pharm once again has the answer with Nocotech: hydrogen peroxide spreads everywhere and leaves no residue after treatment,” he continues. The synergy of these two processes therefore allows for versatile applications to strengthen the fight against infection and contamination. It is efficient, fast, easy to use, economical, environmentally friendly; this unique combination of steam bio-cleaning and bio-disinfection certainly does not lack adjectives to describe it.
